On Friday February 7th, Tia will be joined for an exclusive, one of a kind conversation with NFL great Shawn Barber. Shawn is a 10-year NFL veteran, with experience in both the Eagles and Chiefs organizations. A seasoned community leader and fierce competitor, Shawn will discuss the parallels between sport’s biggest stage and the battle facing security leaders today.

Shawn Barber is a former NFL linebacker who played for 10 years in the league, including with the Washington Commanders, Philadelphia Eagles, and Kansas City Chiefs. Since retiring in 2007, Shawn has pursued coaching, scouting, and community engagement roles.
He has served as a Kansas City Chiefs Ambassador, NFL Uniform Game Day Official, and coach at various collegiate and professional levels. Shawn is deeply committed to mentoring young men and contributing to nonprofit and charity efforts. Among his many achievements, he has spoken at community enrichment events across the Kansas City metro area, sponsored Super Bowl 50 trips for children in remission from cancer, and participated in military appreciation tours in Afghanistan and Kuwait and is planning future service tours.
Currently, Shawn hosts The Process podcast on the KCSN platform and serves as VP of Business Development at the McInnes Group in Overland Park, KS.

Tia Hopkins As Chief Cyber Resilience Office. Tia Hopkins is focused on engaging with the cybersecurity community, providing thought leadership, supporting strategic customer and partner engagements, and working closely with the sales, marketing, product, engineering, and customer success teams to drive security outcome-focused initiatives.
She has spent the past 20+ years of her career in various IT and IT Security roles and has over a decade of experience in the managed services space. Outside of her role at eSentire, Tia is also an adjunct professor of Cybersecurity at Yeshiva University and is currently pursuing her PhD in Cybersecurity Leadership.
Tia holds a B.Sc. in Information Technology, M.Sc. in Information Security and Assurance, as well as a M.Sc. in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance. She was recognized by SC Media as a 2019 Reboot Leadership Award recipient in the Outstanding Educator category. In 2020, Tia was awarded The Software Report’s Top 25 Women Leaders in Cybersecurity and the Cyber Defence Magazine’s Top 100 Women in Cybersecurity. She was also recognized in 2021 by IFSEC Global as a top global influencer in the Security Executives category.
